(1873-1921), Italian tenor, studied voice at the school of Father Giuseppe Bronzetti, then studied privately, debut at the Teatro Nuora, Naples in 1894, led to engagements all over Italy, sang at Covent Garden, La Scala, NY Met, his standard repertory encompassed 59 operas. He possessed one of the most beautiful tenor voices of the world has ever known. A film of his life,"The Great Caruso" with Mario Lanza, was made in 1950.

Xian Xinghai(1905-1945), studied at the National Music Institute at Peking and then entered Shanghai Music Conservatory, in 1929 went to Paris to study at the Paris Conservatory with Dukas and d'Indy, composed 2 symphonies, 1 violin concerto, about 300 songs. He is best known for his Yellow River Cantata, upon which the Yellow River Concerto is based.

Nie Er(1912-1935), displayed an interest in music from early age, became conductor of the school's Childrens' Orchestra, participated in musical activities since Middle school and learned play violin and piano, organized 'Chinese Contemporary Music Research Group", in 1933 he joined the Communist party, in 1935 he drowned while swimming in Japan en route to Russia for further study. He composed 37 songs, "The March of the Volunteers" became the national anthem of Communist China(PRC).

(1810-1849), Polish pianist and composer, son of French father and Polish mother, born in Zelazowa Wola, near Warsaw, learned to play piano at young age from his mother, then from professional teachers of Warsaw Conservatory, began playing charity concerts and started to compose, toured Germany, Vienna, and London as a virtuoso pianist, in 1831 he went to Paris and had a successful concert, subsequently stayed in Paris for the rest of his life, he had relationship with Madam Dudevant(known as "George Sand") in 1836 and ended in 1844, continued to give concerts in England, but his health declining, and died in October 18, 1849.
